GTA 6: Los Angeles Advertising Campaign and Possible Discord Partnership Fuel Launch Anticipation

Leak. Leaked information. We report the fact without showing or linking to the material.
GTA 6 Advertising Campaign Reaches the Streets of Los Angeles
Despite being set in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida, GTA 6 is reportedly receiving significant promotional exposure in Los Angeles. The campaign includes large murals, billboards, and other advertising displays across well-known locations in the city.
On Hollywood Boulevard, a large mural featuring protagonists Jason and Lucia has attracted attention from fans and local residents. The artwork also reportedly underwent adjustments during production after aspects of the characters' appearance drew attention.
Meanwhile, Sunset Boulevard has become another prominent location for the campaign, with billboards and banners featuring the main characters and the game's visual identity. Netflix had already put up an "I love Vice City" billboard in Los Angeles in late August, when it premiered GTA VI: An Extended Look.
Music is another component of the campaign. On September 16, Spotify put GTA-style billboards up in Los Angeles, Miami and New York, using artwork that musicians had posted the day before.
Music has long played an important role in the franchise, which is known for its fictional radio stations and licensed soundtracks. The reported collaboration could expand the game's promotional reach while connecting the release with audiences interested in its music.
One notable omission is the Hotel Figueroa, whose façade has previously featured Rockstar promotional artwork, including advertising associated with GTA V. The building currently displays Apple advertisements.
The possibility of the hotel hosting another Rockstar campaign remains speculative. There has been no official confirmation that the location is being reserved for a future PC release or other editions of the game.
Discord Code Suggests Possible GTA 6 Collaboration
Online, dataminers have reportedly discovered references to a potential GTA 6 promotional campaign within Discord's application code. According to information attributed to the account Wumpus Central, the initiative is associated with the codename “Hexagon.”
The leaked data suggests that the campaign could begin on November 17, 2026, just two days before the game's scheduled release. However, neither the proposed launch date nor the reported features have been officially confirmed.
Among the elements identified in the code are customization options inspired by Vice City's visual style. These reportedly include a GTA 6-themed application icon, a new interface featuring neon-inspired gradients, and a custom font for users' display names.
The information also references a possible Discord Quest, a promotional feature that typically encourages users to interact with games or other digital content. Its objectives and potential rewards remain unclear.
If the campaign is confirmed, users could receive cosmetic items for their Discord profiles or interface. Some fans have also speculated about the possibility of in-game rewards for GTA 6, although there is currently insufficient evidence to support that expectation.
Different Availability Periods Reportedly Planned for Free and Nitro Users
Another detail emerging from the alleged leak concerns the campaign's duration.
According to the reported data, the themed features would remain available to free Discord users until December 8, 2026. Discord Nitro subscribers would reportedly have access to the extended customization options until February 15, 2027.
These dates, along with the eligibility requirements and specific features, still require official confirmation from Discord. Until then, the exact terms of the reported promotion remain uncertain.
Could the Partnership Signal a PC Release?
The possibility of a GTA 6 collaboration with Discord has also prompted discussion about the game's platform availability. The connection has drawn attention because Discord is widely used by PC gamers, while GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
However, a promotional partnership with Discord would not, by itself, indicate that a PC version is approaching. Digital marketing campaigns can target gaming communities regardless of the platform on which users intend to play.
Unless Rockstar announces additional details, the reported collaboration should not be interpreted as confirmation of a PC release or a potential launch date for that version.
Anticipation Builds Ahead of Release
GTA 6's reported promotional strategy spans physical advertising and potential digital initiatives. If the campaigns involving brands such as Spotify, Netflix, and Discord are confirmed as described, they would demonstrate the reach of the game's marketing beyond Rockstar's traditional promotional channels.
With the release scheduled for November 19, 2026, GTA 6 remains one of the industry's most anticipated upcoming titles. Further announcements are expected to clarify which reported initiatives are part of the official campaign and which details circulating among fans remain speculative.
Correction (October 26, 2026): an earlier version of this article presented the Netflix "I love Vice City" billboard and the Spotify billboards as part of the current Los Angeles campaign. The Netflix billboard went up in late August for the Extended Look premiere, and Spotify's billboards appeared on September 16.
Context
The Discord part of this story is a leak. Dataminer Wumpus Central found the code in a test build of Discord on October 6, and it included the line "Promoted by Rockstar Games". According to GTA BOOM, Discord removed every GTA VI reference from its code the next day. Neither Discord nor Rockstar has confirmed the campaign.
The two companies have worked together before: Discord has given out free Nitro through a Quest for watching a GTA 6 trailer, there were GTA Online rewards for linking accounts, and GTA 6 has an official Discord server. In Los Angeles, painted murals are a Rockstar tradition: in 2013, a hand-painted GTA V ad with its three protagonists went up on the Hotel Figueroa days before launch.
What we know
- The leaked dates: the campaign starts on November 17 at 18:00 UTC, ends on December 8 for free users and on February 15, 2027 for Nitro subscribers (RockstarINTEL).
- The leaked items: a GTA VI app icon, a theme with a Vice City gradient, a display-name font and a possible Quest whose reward field was empty.
- The Spotify billboards went up on September 16 in Los Angeles, New York and Miami, with GTA-style artwork that artists such as Travis Scott, Future and Metro Boomin had posted the day before (GTA BOOM).
- Netflix's "I love Vice City" billboard in Los Angeles dates from late August, when it premiered GTA VI: An Extended Look.
- The Hollywood Boulevard mural of Jason and Lucia was painted in mid-October. Today the Hotel Figueroa facade shows an iPhone ad, according to gta.com.ua.
What we don't know yet
- Whether the Discord campaign will happen as found, since the code was pulled a day later, and what the Quest would give.
- Who commissioned the Hollywood mural, and whether the faces were really repainted: only one site reported the change.
- Whether the Hotel Figueroa will get a GTA VI mural. The idea that the space is being kept for a later release has no source.
VICEVERSA's take
The "PC is coming" reading of the Discord leak is weak. Discord works on PS5 and Xbox too, and a theme for millions of Discord users promotes the launch no matter where people play.
The more interesting detail is the calendar: the theme would end for free users on December 8 but last until February for Nitro, so Discord would also be using GTA VI to sell its own subscription. Until Discord or Rockstar confirms it, this belongs in the leak column, which is why this article is marked as a leak.
