Rockstar Brings Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell to Real Life in Miami Ahead of GTA 6 Launch

Rockstar Brings Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell to Real Life in Miami Ahead of GTA 6 Launch

Rockstar Games has brought two of the most recognizable fictional fast-food brands from the Grand Theft Auto franchise into the real world. Food outlets at the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat in Miami, have adopted the branding of Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell as part of promotional activities surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI.

The activation came to fans' attention on October 21 and 22, when images and videos of the themed outlets began circulating on social media. The campaign brings elements of the game's fictional setting into a real-world environment inspired in part by the Miami region.

GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, according to Rockstar. The promotional activity therefore arrives four weeks before the game's expected release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Fictional Fast-Food Chains Arrive at the Miami Heat's Arena

Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell are recurring fictional brands in the Grand Theft Auto series. Burger Shot satirizes American burger chains, while Cluckin' Bell represents fast-food restaurants specializing in chicken.

At the Kaseya Center, the brands have been incorporated into food outlets featuring game-inspired visual identities, including signage and themed design elements. According to coverage published by Dexerto, the Burger Shot location uses a food outlet that previously operated under the Skinny Louie brand.

The activation does not represent the opening of independent restaurants across multiple cities, based on the information available. Instead, it is a localized promotional effort inside the arena, incorporating elements of the GTA universe into the visitor experience.

There is also no confirmed evidence that every fictional item featured in the games is available on the menu. Reports indicate that the food offerings remain largely based on products already sold at the venue's existing outlets.

Marketing Campaign Expands Beyond Video Games

The Miami activation is part of a promotional effort to bring GTA 6 closer to its audience ahead of launch. Alongside references to the franchise's fictional brands, the campaign draws on the connection between the game and its real-world inspiration.

Miami has a direct connection to Vice City, the central setting of Grand Theft Auto VI, which draws inspiration from the city and the surrounding region. This relationship gives Rockstar opportunities to incorporate recognizable visual and cultural references into real-world locations.

The initiative also extends the game's promotional presence beyond traditional channels, such as trailers, official announcements, and social media posts. By transforming existing venues with elements associated with the franchise, the campaign creates opportunities for visitors to take photos and videos and share their experiences online.

GTA 6 Set for November Release

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, according to Rockstar Games. The game will initially be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Promotional activity is expected to remain a focus in the weeks leading up to launch, as anticipation surrounding the next installment continues to attract attention from gaming publications and the wider entertainment industry.

The appearance of Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell at the Kaseya Center offers another example of how Grand Theft Auto references are being brought into real-world settings. The activation also reinforces the connection between Miami, the inspiration for Vice City, and the marketing campaign for the franchise's next major release.

Context

The restaurants are the latest piece of a campaign that is turning Miami into a real-life Vice City. On September 22, a pink "Welcome to Vice City" sign went up on the roof of the Kaseya Center, which is owned by Miami-Dade County, under a $975,000 deal with Rockstar. Fortune notes that the amount is $25,000 below the $1 million threshold that would have required a vote by the county commission.

Miami Beach approved a deal worth up to $4 million on September 10, by a 4-3 vote, for discreet Vice City branding on beach chairs and umbrellas from October 15 to December 31. The City of Miami approved banners worth up to $1.2 million. Not everyone agrees: on September 3, Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz and Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez issued a joint statement that ended with "Miami-Dade County is not Vice City."

What we know

  • Burger Shot sells the burgers the arena already served under the Skinny Louie name, now in GTA packaging. GameSpot lists the cheapest combo (cheeseburger, fries and a drink) at $28.50 before tax, and an applewood bacon burger combo at $31.
  • Joel Franco's October 21 post showed a Burger Shot meal and said it cost more than $37, according to Dexerto. The Cluckin' Bell stand was spotted on October 22.
  • For now the stands are only at the Kaseya Center. GameSpot describes them as part of Rockstar's partnership with the arena, and no end date has been announced.
  • The arena will host "A Night in Vice City" on November 18, the eve of the launch: the Heat play the Milwaukee Bucks in reimagined uniforms on a special Vice City court (VGC).

What we don't know yet

  • How long the restaurants will stay, and whether they will open anywhere else.
  • What Cluckin' Bell replaced and what is on its menu: no outlet has published its prices yet.
  • The result of the Miami-Dade commission's October 20 vote on larger deals, such as Vice City branding at Miami International Airport, PortMiami and the Metromover. The outcome has not been officially confirmed.
  • Whether the Miami Beach contract has been signed. The commission approved it, but the signature had not been confirmed as of mid-October.

VICEVERSA's take

Of everything Rockstar is doing in Miami, the fast-food stands are the least controversial piece: a concession inside an arena, which did not need any public vote. They also show how the campaign works, by putting things from the game where people will photograph them and post them.

The price is arena pricing, not a GTA joke: about $30 for a burger combo. The real value is the packaging and the photo. With the Heat's Vice City night on November 18, the Kaseya Center will be the centre of Rockstar's Miami campaign on the eve of the launch.
